201 stainless steel diamond plate, also known as 201 tread plate or 201 checker plate, is made from ASTM A240 grade 201 austenitic stainless steel. It features a raised diamond or checkered pattern on one side, which enhances grip and slip resistance. Compared to 304, 201 grade contains lower nickel and higher manganese, making it more economical while still offering good strength and moderate corrosion resistance in indoor or mildly corrosive environments.
