If you are looking for a stainless steel tubing solution that offers outstanding heat resistance, ultra-clean surfaces, and precise dimensional accuracy for extreme high-temperature and high-purity environments, our TP310S (UNS S31008, 1.4845) tubing is an ideal choice. Manufactured with a premium alloy composition containing 24–26% chromium and 19–22% nickel, it can operate continuously at temperatures up to 1150°C and intermittently up to 1200°C, far exceeding the heat resistance limits of conventional 304 or 316 stainless steel.
The ASTM A269 TP310S stainless steel tubes we supply are annealed in a hydrogen/inert atmosphere (1050–1150°C), resulting in oxidation-free surfaces without acid pickling and without harmful surface residues. Compared with standard annealed and pickled (AP) tubes, which typically have a matte finish, surface roughness (Ra) of 1.0–1.5 μm, and residual acid contamination, our bright annealed tubes improve heat transfer efficiency by 15–20% and effectively suppress bacterial growth, which is especially critical for pharmaceutical, food processing, and semiconductor applications.

Key differences: 310S BA vs. AP tubing
| Item | Bright Annealed (BA) | Pickled (AP) |
|---|---|---|
| Heat Treatment Atmosphere | Hydrogen / inert gas protection, no oxidation | Air annealing + pickling to remove oxide scale |
| Surface Appearance | Mirror bright, clean and free of dirt | Matte dark surface with slight pits |
| Surface Roughness | Ra 0.2–0.5μm | Ra 1.0–1.5μm |
| Cleanliness | Ultra high purity, no acid or iron ion residue | Pickling residue exists, easy to stain and rust |
| Production Cost | Higher | Lower |
What is the difference between TP310 and TP310S?
TP310 has a maximum carbon content of 0.25%, while TP310S has a carbon content limited to below 0.08%. The low-carbon TP310S effectively inhibits carbide precipitation during welding, thereby reducing the risk of intergranular corrosion.
