What is the ASTM A269 standard?

ASTM A269 is a technical standard developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) for general-purpose seamless and weldable austenitic stainless steel tubing. This standard specifies the material grades, chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, and tolerances for austenitic stainless steel tubing intended for general corrosion resistance and low-temperature service. It applies to steel tubing with an inner diameter ≥ 1/4 inch and a nominal wall thickness ≥ 0.020 inches.
