ASTM A312 TP316L seamless ss pipe is the low-carbon variant of Grade 316 stainless steel. The TP316L seamless tube we supply feature a maximum carbon content of merely 0.03% and molybdenum content ranging from 2% to 3%, which markedly elevates the pipe's resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion.

 

Our TP316L tubes are manufactured using a seamless process, ensuring uniform structural strength, leak-proof integrity, and an exceptional surface finish. This makes them ideally suited for critical piping systems where welding defects or corrosion risks must be absolutely eliminated. All TP316L pipes undergo solution annealing at temperatures ranging from 1050°C to 1150°C, followed by rapid quenching. This process ensures a stable hardness level consistently maintained at ≤HB 217and enables the material to successfully pass intergranular corrosion tests, thereby effectively eliminating the risks of cracking and corrosion associated with incomplete annealing.

In highly corrosive environments such as those found in chemical processing and marine engineering TP316L seamless tubes offer a service life that is three to five times longer than that of standard piping materials. They maintain reliable performance across a wide temperature range, spanning from -196°C to 650°C. Furthermore, these pipes can be further processed via cold drawing or hot rolling into various specifications and can be high-quality welded using ER316L filler wire.

Each pipe end is fitted with a plastic cap, and the pipes are enclosed in thickened packaging to prevent corrosion from seawater salt spray and mechanical damage during sea transport. 1.What is ASTM A312  TP316L material?

ASTM A312 TP 316L Stainless Steel Pipes and Tubes is the low carbon version of 316 stainless. With the addition of molybdenum, the steel is popular for use in severe corrosion environments due to the materials immunity from boundary carbide precipitation (sensitisation).

 

2.Will a magnet stick to 316L stainless steel?

With its higher nickel composition range, 316 is considered the "most nonmagnetic" stainless steel. However, an item of 316 stainless steel which has significant welding or machining may be sufficiently magnetic to produce a noticeable attraction when brought near a magnet

 

3.Differences between  A312 TP316L and Grade 316 Stainless Steel Pipes?

TP316 has a maximum carbon content of 0.08%, while the low-carbon TP316L features a carbon cap of 0.03%. Standard 316 is susceptible to intergranular corrosion after welding; TP316L delivers stronger intergranular corrosion resistance upon welding and requires no additional solution annealing treatment.
