ASTM A312 TP304 stainless steel welded pipe is a cost-effective solution. Under the same specifications, welded pipes are approximately 20–40% cheaper than seamless pipes. With a carbon content of ≤0.08%, it forms a dense Cr₂O₃ oxide film, providing corrosion resistance comparable to 304 seamless pipes. It complies with ASTM A312, ASME SA312, and EN 10217-7 standards.
GNEE supplies ASTM A312 TP304 ERW welded pipes manufactured using automated welding processes (TIG argon arc welding, plasma welding, or laser welding) without the addition of filler metal, ensuring material purity. After annealing, welding stress at the seam is eliminated, reducing cold work hardening and improving corrosion resistance. The pipes can operate at long-term temperatures up to 500°C, with short-term peak temperatures reaching 600°C, making them suitable for medium- and low-temperature heat exchange applications.
Our 304 stainless steel welded pipes are typically dual-certified as 304/304L, with lower carbon content and improved weldability. We offer welded pipes ranging from 1/2" to 48", with support for non-standard thickness customization. In addition to standard pickled finish, we also provide brushed, polished (180#–600#), and bright annealed (BA) finishes. All products are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificates (MTC).
What is the difference between ASTM A312 TP304 and TP316?
The primary difference between ASTM A312 TP304 and TP316 stainless steel pipes is the addition of 2–3% molybdenum in TP316, which significantly enhances resistance to chlorides, acids, and marine environments. While TP304 is suitable for general corrosion conditions and mild industrial applications, TP316 is the preferred choice for chloride-rich settings like seawater, offshore structures, and chemical processing plants.
