SUS904L (UNS N08904) is a high-alloy super austenitic stainless steel specifically designed to maintain stable performance in extremely corrosive environments.
SUS904L polished stainless steel plates undergo solution heat treatment hot rolling at 1180–1220°C, annealing at 850–950°C, precision cold rolling, and double-sided grinding and polishing. They are further processed through ultrasonic flaw detection, full dimensional inspection (thickness tolerance of ±0.01 mm), and pickling passivation. Compared with ordinary hot-rolled or cold-rolled plates, precision polished plates eliminate surface oxide scale and micro-defects, making them ideal for manufacturing precision mechanical components, sealing parts, and semiconductor equipment.
The SUS904L (UNS N08904 / 1.4539) super austenitic precision polished stainless steel plates we supply comply with ASTM B625/A240 standards. Available specifications include thicknesses of 0.5–100 mm, widths of 1000–2000 mm, and lengths of 2000–6000 mm, with customizable dimensions. Surface finishes include 2B, BA, mirror finish, and precision polished finish (Ra ≤ 0.2 μm).
SUS904L plates offer far superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared with 316L, and can withstand dilute sulfuric acid, seawater, high salt spray, and other aggressive media. They show no rust after 72-hour salt spray testing and do not release heavy metals during long-term use. Each batch is supplied with EN 10204 3.2 certification and the original mill warranty. The finished product qualification rate is ≥99.8%, ensuring fast delivery and reliable precision materials for extreme corrosive environments.

904L vs 316L Corrosion Resistance
904L exhibits superior corrosion resistance compared to 316L, primarily due to its higher alloy element content, which significantly enhances its resistance to pitting corrosion. The pitting resistance equivalent (PREN) of 904L is approximately 34-43, far exceeding the approximately 25 of 316L. 904L performs exceptionally well in harsh environments such as flue gas desulfurization, seawater desalination, and chemical processing, while 316L is suitable for moderately corrosive conditions such as food processing and mild marine environments.

Packaging
Surface Protection: Double-sided thick, high-adhesion laser protective film or blue film to prevent physical damage to the polished surface.
Interlayer Buffering: Acid-free paper or pearl cotton is used to separate the boards.
Outer Packaging: Reinforced fumigated wooden crates or steel pallets are used. The interior of the wooden crate is fully sealed for waterproofing and moisture protection to prevent 904L from being corroded by moisture during ocean transport.
