It contains 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 6.1% molybdenum, 0.20% nitrogen, and 0.010% carbon. This high alloy content gives it a pitting resistance equivalent (PRE) of around 40, providing exceptional resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.​
