What is 1.4542 material grade?
630 (1.4542) Stainless Steel. 630 stainless steel is one of the newest stainless steel grade found in 1960s. This grade is written as 1.4542 or X5CrNiCuNb16-4 or 17-4 PH according to EN norm and it is written as UNS S17400 according to UNS norm.

Heat Treatment
Solution annealed at 1040°C. Double hardened/ aged at 620°C (1150°F).
Weldability
Good, Pre-heating and post-heating practices used for standard hardenable stainless grades are not required.
