As demand for high-temperature and corrosion-resistant piping continues to grow in Singapore's petrochemical, waste incineration, and heat treatment industries, selecting a qualified 310S stainless steel pipe supplier has become increasingly important.

Recently, GNEE Stainless Steel successfully completed the production and export of 48.3 × 3.68 × 6000 mm ASTM A312 TP310S Stainless Steel Seamless Pipes to Singapore. The project required strict control over chemical composition, heat resistance, dimensional tolerance, surface finish, and delivery schedule, all of which were completed on time with full inspection documentation.

The customer selected GNEE not simply because of price, but because we could provide 100% PMI material identification, EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificates, dimensional inspection reports, hydrostatic testing, and complete export packaging, significantly reducing procurement risks before shipment.

Why Choose 310S Stainless Steel?

310S stainless steel pipes feature high chromium (24–26%) and nickel (19–22%) contents, enabling them to maintain excellent oxidation resistance at continuous operating temperatures of approximately 1100°C and intermittent temperatures of around 1150°C. Their high-temperature creep strength, thermal fatigue resistance, and resistance to oxidation scale spalling significantly outperform those of the 304 and 316 series. By effectively minimizing wall-thickness loss caused by high-temperature oxidation and reducing the frequency of maintenance-related shutdowns, 310S is widely used in demanding applications such as industrial furnaces, cracking furnaces, boiler superheaters, petrochemical units, and high-temperature exhaust systems.

Production and Material Preparation

Although the required dimensions fell within standard export specifications, the client demanded dimensional consistency to facilitate automated welding and installation.
Following the finalization of the production schedule, each steel pipe underwent the following processes: solution annealing, pickling and passivation, straightening, dimensional inspection, surface cleaning, and final marking. Throughout manufacturing, every production batch was linked to its original heat number, ensuring full traceability from raw material to the finished pipe.

Production And Material Preparation

Dimensional Accuracy Verification

For process piping installation, dimensional consistency directly impacts welding efficiency and installation quality.
Pre-shipment inspections focused on the following:
Outside Diameter (OD): Each pipe was measured individually to verify compliance with the specified 48.3 mm standard.
Wall Thickness: Ultrasonic thickness gauges were used to measure thickness at multiple points around the circumference (specified at 3.68 mm) to ensure uniformity.
Pipe Length: Finished pipes were inspected prior to packaging to confirm they met the specified 6000 mm length requirement.
Straightness: Each pipe underwent visual and mechanical checks to minimize deviations during automated welding and on-site installation.

Material Composition Verification (PMI)

Material authenticity is critical for high-temperature stainless steel projects.
Each production batch underwent Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing using a handheld XRF analyzer.
Testing verified chromium content, nickel content, and key alloying elements, confirming compliance with the 310 stainless steel grade.

Surface Quality Inspection

The client required a clean surface to allow for immediate subsequent processing.
Each pipe was inspected for surface scratches, dents, rolling defects, oxide scale, contaminants, mechanical damage, and end deformation. Following solution annealing and pickling, the finished surfaces exhibited a uniform metallic luster, facilitating cutting, beveling, automated orbital welding, and installation operations.

Export Packing for Singapore

Singapore's humid marine climate requires reliable export packaging to protect stainless steel during transportation and storage.

Packing included:

Plastic end caps on every pipe

Waterproof wrapping

Export-grade wooden cases or bundled packaging

Moisture-proof protection

Stainless steel identification labels

Heat-number preservation

Bundle marking showing size, grade, quantity, and heat number

Special care was taken to avoid contact with carbon-steel materials during loading to reduce the risk of surface contamination.

Export Coordination to Singapore

For this project, timely delivery was as important as product quality. Production, inspection, documentation, and logistics were coordinated to minimize lead time while maintaining strict quality control.

The finished pipes were prepared for sea freight with complete traceability from raw material through final shipment, enabling efficient customs clearance and straightforward receiving inspection upon arrival in Singapore.
