ASTM A240 201 stainless steel coil (corresponding to GB/T 24511 standard, grade 12Cr17Mn6Ni5N) is a nickel-saving austenitic stainless steel cold-rolled/hot-rolled coil. It implements the ASTM A240 international standard to ensure that the chemical composition (Cr 16-18%, C≤0.15%) and mechanical properties (tensile strength ≥520MPa) meet industrial-grade requirements. It is widely used in cost-sensitive scenarios such as architectural decoration, daily hardware, and home appliance manufacturing.

What is the difference between 201 and 202 stainless steel cold drawn coils?
202 has a nickel content of 5-6% (higher than 201's 3.5-5.5%), but a higher manganese content (7.5-10%), and has slightly better corrosion resistance, but still far less than 304, both of which are nickel-saving stainless steels.
Will 201 stainless steel coils rust outdoors?
There is no obvious rust in short-term use (1-2 years) in non-coastal areas, and it is recommended to spray fluorocarbon paint on the surface for long-term use (more than 3 years); it is easy to rust in coastal or acid rain areas, and 304 stainless steel needs to be used instead.
