UNS S31703 stainless steel welded square tube is a low carbon high molybdenum austenitic stainless steel (UNS) formed by TIG/ERW welding process. Its rectangular cross-section design combines structural strength and spatial adaptability. ASTM A312 TP317L SS Welded Square Tubing adopts TIG welding (thin wall)/ERW high frequency welding (thick wall). After solution annealing, the strength of the weld is consistent with that of the parent material (≥515MPa), and the heat affected zone is narrow (≤1mm), avoiding local corrosion weak points.
The moment of inertia of the ASTM A312 TP317L square tube section is 15%-25% higher than that of the round tube. Under the same cross-sectional area, the rectangular structure has stronger resistance to bending and torsion loads, and is suitable as equipment brackets and frame structures (such as reactor supports and building curtain wall keels), reducing material consumption by more than 30%.
