Our 430 stainless steel coils are mainly produced using cold rolling process, with a thickness range of 0.15-3.0mm, a width of 1000-1250mm, and a weight of 3-8 tons per coil. All products undergo stabilization annealing at 750-850℃ to improve dimensional stability. Surface finishes include 2B, BA, No.4, pickling, and film coating; product forms include original coils, slit coils (custom widths 10-1250mm), and cut-to-length sheets (minimum order quantity: 30kg).

Q: Is AISI 430 magnetic?
A: Yes. Unlike common 300 series austenitic stainless steels (such as 304 and 316), AISI 430 is strongly magnetic in all states. This makes it commonly used in electrical panels or precision electronic components requiring magnetic attraction.
Q: Will 430 stainless steel rust?
A: Yes. Although 430 has good oxidation and corrosion resistance, its resistance to pitting is weaker than the 300 series.
Q: How are the stamping and bending properties of 430?
A: Bending: 430 has excellent bending properties and is suitable for cold forming at various right angles and complex angles.
Drawing: Its deep drawing properties are worse than 304. It is prone to "orange peel" or cracking during deep drawing, therefore it is not suitable for manufacturing very deep containers.
Q: Why is 430 cold-rolled coil cheaper than 304?
A: Mainly because of the nickel content. Nickel is an expensive metal that improves the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. 430 contains almost no nickel, therefore it is cheaper and its price doesn't fluctuate as much with international nickel prices as 304.
Q: How to store and protect 430 cold-rolled coil?
A: Moisture protection: Store in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse, avoiding rain or condensation.
Protective film: Cold-rolled coils usually have a fine surface finish. It is recommended to cover them with a PE or laser protective film before processing to prevent scratches during shearing and stamping.
Contact protection: Avoid storing with carbon steel (ordinary iron) to prevent electrochemical corrosion ("floating rust") caused by carbon steel dust.
