what is 1.4571 material specification?
1.4571 is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel, also known as AISI 316Ti or X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2. Its main components include chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and stabilizing titanium. It has a typical tensile strength of approximately 500-700 N/mm². Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, it is ideally suited for use in the marine, chemical, and petrochemical industries.
What material is 1.4541 equivalent to?
The material number 1.4541, according to the European standard EN 10088, is equivalent to AISI 321. It is also known as X6CrNiTi18-10. This is an austenitic stainless steel, stabilized with titanium, and offers good corrosion resistance, particularly against intergranular corrosion.
What is the temperature range for 1.4571 material?
The stainless steel AISI 316Ti /1.4571 has good forgeability. Initially, the material should be heated to a temperature between 1150°C and 1180°C so that forging can take place in the temperature range of 1180°C and 950°C.
Chemical Composition
Titanium Content: 1.4541 contains a higher amount of titanium (5xC - 0.70%) compared to 1.4571 (0.5 - 1.0%), which helps improve high-temperature stability and prevent sensitization in welded structures.

1.4541 vs 1.4571 stainless steel: High temperature resistance
After titanium stabilization treatment, 1.4541 steel maintains its oxidation resistance up to approximately 900 °C and retains a room-temperature tensile strength of ≥ 500 MPa; while 1.4571 steel, with the addition of molybdenum (2-3%), exhibits better creep resistance at temperatures up to approximately 870 °C, but has slightly lower strength at the highest temperatures. Therefore, 1.4541 is more suitable for use in long-term high-temperature oxidizing environments, while 1.4571 is more suitable for high-temperature corrosive environments.

1.4541 Vs 1.4571 Stainless Steel:Corrosion Resistance
Compared to 1.4541 (321), 1.4571 (316Ti) offers superior corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-rich environments, due to the addition of molybdenum to enhance pitting corrosion resistance. 1.4541, on the other hand, relies on titanium for stabilization to improve high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance in less corrosive environments. Therefore, 1.4571 is more suitable for seawater/chemical processing applications, while 1.4541 is suitable for general industrial use.
What is the difference between 1.4404 and 1.4571?
1.4571 has a heat resistance up to 400 degrees Celsius. With 1.4404, it lies between 300 and 350 degrees Celsius. With other mechanical properties, for example cold formability, cold compression and notch impact strength the enrichment with titanium brings a degradation, compared to 1.4404.
