1.4948 – Heat-Resistant Austenitic Steel: High-Temp Industrial Furnace Specialist

Overview

1.4948 is a high-chromium-nickel austenitic heat-resistant stainless steel, designed for extreme high-temperature applications requiring excellent oxidation and creep resistance. Composed of 20.00-23.00% chromium, 11.00-14.00% nickel, and trace amounts of titanium and niobium for stabilization, it forms a dense protective oxide film that can withstand continuous service at temperatures up to 900°C and short-term peaks up to 1000°C. Its austenitic structure ensures non-magnetic properties in the annealed state, along with good ductility and weldability. This grade is widely used in European industrial furnaces and high-temperature processing equipment.

Tensile Strength (Rm): ≥ 520 MPa; Yield Strength (Rp0.2): ≥ 210 MPa; Elongation (A): ≥ 40%; Brinell Hardness (HB): ≤ 201
