439 2D Surface Stainless Steel Coil is a titanium-stabilized, low-carbon ferritic stainless steel cold-rolled coil. It is developed by reducing the carbon content and adding titanium based on standard 430 stainless steel.

 

Through the process of cold rolling, annealing, and pickling without subsequent skin-pass rolling, the finished product exhibits a uniform matte texture and a consistently rough surface. It is typically used as a base material for subsequent deep processing, such as brushing, polishing, and tube manufacturing. The 2D finish is particularly well-suited for welded pipe production, as it enhances weld seam adhesion and improves lubricant retention during processing. Furthermore, it delivers excellent deep drawing and bending performance, meeting the processing requirements for pipe manufacturing and component stamping.

We can provide 439 cold-rolled stainless steel coils with a thickness of 0.1mm to 3.0mm and a width of 10mm to 1550mm. They can also be slit into narrow strips upon request to fit different size requirements for welded pipe production. 

 

What is the difference between 439 stainless steel coil and 304 ?

The corrosion resistance of 439 stainless steel coil outperforms that of 430 and 200 series stainless steel, and is comparable to 304 stainless steel in terms of strength and corrosion resistance. Its pitting resistance in chloride environments is even superior to that of 304, and it can withstand intermittent high temperatures up to 850°C for long-term use.

What are the most common applications for 439 2D coils?

Yes. Like all 400-series ferritic stainless steels, 439 is strongly attracted to magnets. This is a property of its crystal structure and does not indicate poor quality or lack of corrosion resistance.
