What is ASTM A269?
ASTM A269 is a standard specification for seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubing used for general corrosion resistance and low or high-temperature service. This specification outlines various mechanical testing requirements, including flaring, flange testing, hardness testing, and reverse flattening testing. Additionally, each tubing must undergo either a nondestructive electrical test or a hydrostatic test.

 

ASTM A269 TP316L bright annealed seamless pipe for seawater applications is a highly corrosion-resistant austenitic stainless steel pipe with a bright annealed surface finish (Ra ≤ 0.4μm) and seamless construction. It offers a tensile strength of 485-690MPa and a yield strength of ≥170MPa. It is specifically designed to withstand the harsh conditions of seawater environments, including pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride-rich conditions. This ensures long-term durability and reliability in seawater cooling systems, desalination equipment, and offshore applications.
