What is ASTM A269 pipe?

ASTM A269 pipe can be produced seamlessly or welded. Common surface finishes include annealing, pickling, or bright annealing. SS304 and SS316 are the two most commonly used stainless steel grades for stainless steel piping systems. They are easy to clean, require minimal maintenance, and are affordable.

 

ASTM A269 TP316L stainless steel bright annealed tubing is a high-precision austenitic stainless steel tube with a bright annealed surface (Ra ≤ 0.4μm) further refined to a 320 grit polish (surface roughness Ra ≈ 0.05-0.1μm). It offers excellent cleanliness and aesthetics, a tensile strength of 485-690MPa, and a yield strength ≥170MPa. It is designed for use in high-purity fluid systems, food/beverage processing, and pharmaceutical equipment, where an ultra-smooth surface (minimizing bacterial adhesion and fluid friction) and corrosion resistance are critical.
