ASTM A815 standard applies to wrought ferritic, ferritic-austenitic, and martensitic stainless steel fittings. S31803 is a duplex stainless steel. It is a 22% chromium duplex (austenitic/ferritic) stainless steel (Type 2205) with medium to high strength and good resistance to general corrosion/stress corrosion and corrosion/cracking.
ASTM A815 S31803 weld neck 90° elbow supplied by GNEE is a specialized fitting used to change the direction of piping by 90° through welding two pipes together. It is made of S31803 duplex stainless steel and manufactured in accordance with the ASTM A815 weld neck fitting standard. UNS S32205 is generally considered an upgraded version of S31803 and is the more commonly used grade. Their chemical compositions are very similar. S32205 ensures sufficient recrystallization of the austenitic phase in the welding heat-affected zone by raising the lower limit of nitrogen content, thereby guaranteeing the toughness and corrosion resistance of the welded joint.
