Description

Grade 321H is the high-carbon variant of Grade 321, engineered to enhance high-temperature strength and creep resistance while retaining titanium stabilization. With a carbon range of 0.04-0.10%, it offers improved mechanical stability at elevated temperatures compared to standard 321, making it suitable for continuous service at 500-800°C. It contains the same titanium content (0.15-0.40%) as 321, ensuring resistance to intergranular corrosion and sensitization, even after welding. Unlike 321, 321H is optimized for high-temperature pressure components, providing superior creep strength and tensile strength at elevated temperatures, while maintaining non-magnetic properties and good weldability. It is widely used in power generation, petrochemical, and industrial heating applications where high-heat performance is critical.

Chemical Composition (wt%)

C: 0.04-0.10, Cr: 17.00-19.00, Ni: 9.00-12.00, Ti: 0.15-0.40, Mn ≤ 2.00, Si ≤ 1.00, P ≤ 0.045, S ≤ 0.030

Mechanical Properties

Tensile Strength ≥ 515 MPa, Yield Strength ≥ 205 MPa, Elongation ≥ 40%, Hardness ≤ 201 HB

Advantages

Superior high-temperature creep strength vs. 321; titanium-stabilized for intergranular corrosion resistance; good weldability; non-magnetic; excellent high-temperature stability; suitable for high-pressure, high-heat components.

Applications

High-temperature boiler tubes, heat exchangers, petrochemical pressure vessels, power generation equipment, and industrial heating components requiring high-heat strength.

Equivalent Grades

AISI 321H, UNS S32109, EN 1.4879, GB 07Cr18Ni10Ti
