What is 1.4401 2b surface finish steel sheet?
What grade of steel is 1.4401 ?
Stainless steel types 1.4401 (also known as grade 316) is an austenitic grade second only to 304 in commercial importance. It has similar mechanical properties to 304 but is stronger at elevated temperatures.
What grit is a 2B finish?
2B material, the finisher would use 120-150 grit belt or drum on the linear finisher to set the scratch and then finish with a fine or 180-220 fleece nonwoven drum or a fine belt.
What is 1.4401 2b surface finish steel sheet?
A 1.4401 2B surface finish steel sheet is a cold-rolled sheet of stainless steel grade 1.4401 (316 stainless steel) that has a smooth, non-reflective, moderately reflective, matte finish achieved by a final pass through polished rolls after annealing and pickling. This popular, economical finish is suitable for a wide range of applications, including food processing, chemical equipment, and architectural uses, due to its even surface and corrosion resistance.

What is the difference between 2B and 1.4401 2D stainless steel finish plate?
The primary difference is that a 2B finish is a bright, smooth, and somewhat reflective surface due to a final pass with polished rolls, while a 2D finish is duller, non-reflective, and matte because it skips this final rolling step. Both are produced by cold rolling, heat-treating, and pickling stainless steel, but the 2B finish is more polished and is the most common general-purpose finish, whereas the 2D finish is ideal for industrial applications requiring a smooth, non-reflective surface, like deep drawing.
