What is XM-19 stainless steel Round bar ?
XM-19 stainless steel round bar is a high-performance, nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel supplied in both annealed and high-strength cold-worked conditions. It offers excellent corrosion resistance superior to that of 316/317 stainless steel, while its yield strength is approximately twice that of these grades. Even in sub-zero environments, it maintains very low magnetic permeability and excellent resistance to sulfide stress cracking, making it suitable for marine engineering and chemical processing applications.

What is equivalent to Nitronic 50 material?
Under ASTM standards, the official grade designation for Nitronic 50 is XM-19 (or XM19), with a UNS number of S20910; additionally, Fermonic 50 and Aquamet 22 are its direct equivalent grades. It is a high-performance, nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel.

Heat Treatment of UNS S20910 Stainless Steel Bars
UNS S20910 (Nitronic 50/XM-19) stainless steel bars are austenitic alloys and cannot be hardened through heat treatment; however, they can be strengthened via cold working or annealed to optimize their corrosion resistance and strength. For optimal solution annealing, the material should be heated to 1066°C–1121°C (1950°F–2050°F), followed by rapid water quenching.
