GNEE Stainless Steel is a professional supplier of stainless steel heat exchanger tubes, with 18 years of experience in the high-end heat transfer tubing industry. All products comply with international standards such as ASTM A213, ASME SA213, and EN 10216-5, and are certified by ISO 9001 and SGS. Every tube undergoes 100% hydrostatic testing and eddy current inspection, and is widely used in petrochemical, power generation, food and pharmaceutical processing, seawater desalination, and other industries.
GNEE can supply various types of ASTM A213 TP317L heat exchanger straight tubes, including cold drawn/cold rolled seamless tubes (outer diameter 6mm–762mm, wall thickness 1mm–140mm), hot rolled seamless tubes (outer diameter 57mm–1020mm, wall thickness 3mm–60mm), as well as customized U tubes. Fixed lengths from 4m to 12m are available according to customer requirements.

As a seamless tube, ASTM A213 TP317L heat exchanger straight tube eliminates the stress concentration defects associated with welded seams, increasing pressure-bearing capacity by approximately 30% compared with welded tubes while maintaining excellent ductility. Its yield strength is ≥205 MPa and tensile strength is ≥515 MPa, meeting the structural stability requirements under complex stress conditions.
In addition, solution annealing, pickling, and other delivery conditions can be provided upon request to ensure that every batch meets the requirements of the NACE TM0177 sulfide stress corrosion test, providing reliable high-end heat exchanger tubing solutions for global customers.

What are the differences between ASTM A213 317L and TP316L?
In corrosive environments containing 50 ppm of chloride ions, its pitting resistance is 40% higher than that of 316L, enabling it to effectively withstand corrosion from highly aggressive media such as seawater and sulfuric acid. In high-temperature environments, it can operate continuously at 800°C without significant degradation of mechanical properties, and its creep strength is 1.8 times that of 304 stainless steel.
Applications of ASTM A213 TP317L Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger Tubes
Chemical and Petrochemical Industries: Applied in heat exchangers, condensers, and reboilers used for processing corrosive acids, chlorides, and various highly corrosive chemical media.
Power Generation Sector: Used in boilers, superheaters, and high-temperature heat exchangers, particularly suitable for high-sulfur environments.
ASTM A213 TP317L Heat Exchanger Tube Price
According to 2026 market data, the pricing of ASTM A213 TP317L (UNS S31703) stainless steel tubing exhibits significant variation influenced by multiple factors, primarily whether the material consists of straight tubes or U-bent tubes, as well as the outer diameter, wall thickness, and order quantity.
Reference Pricing (As of May 2026)
317L Straight Seamless Tubes (ASTM A213): Typically priced between $6,400 and $8,000 per ton.
317L U-Bent Tubes: As these are custom-fabricated products, their FOB unit prices range from $800 to $30,000, with the specific cost dependent upon the complexity of the bending process and the dimensions of the tubing.
For specific specifications and a quotation, please provide the diameter, length, and required delivery condition.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Heat exchanger tubes must undergo 100% non-destructive testing to eliminate the risk of leakage:
Eddy Current Testing (ET): 100% automated ultrasonic/eddy current testing, in accordance with ASTM E426.
Hydrostatic Test: Every tube is subjected to a hydrostatic pressure test.
Ultrasonic Testing (UT): High-precision detection to assess wall thickness uniformity and deep-seated internal defects (performed in accordance with the agreed protocol).

Packaging and Marking:
The material shall be packaged in bundles or plywood crates, wrapped in plastic, and provided with appropriate protective measures to ensure seaworthy transport, or packaged as otherwise specified.
Marking shall comply with the requirements of Specification A1016/A1016M. The marking shall indicate whether the tubing is hot-finished or cold-finished, and shall include-but not be limited to-the following information: standard, grade, dimensions, heat number, and lot number.
