What is 904L stainless steel plate?

904L (UNS N08904) is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel containing approximately 19-23% chromium, 23-28% nickel, 4-5% molybdenum, and added copper, giving it excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and strong acids (such as sulfuric and phosphoric acid). Its low carbon content also ensures excellent weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion.

 

Our ASTM A240 904L stainless steel plates are produced using processes such as electric furnace melting, AOD refining, hot rolling or cold rolling, solution annealing, and pickling, resulting in a uniform microstructure and stable mechanical properties. Typical tensile strength is ≥490 MPa, elongation is greater than 35%, and hardness is usually controlled to ≤220 HB to ensure good formability. We offer a variety of product forms, including hot-rolled plates, cold-rolled plates, custom-sized panels, and slit coils, with surface finishes such as No.1, 2B, BA, and polished to meet different processing and appearance requirements.
