Stainless steel industrial welded pipe is a kind of pipe widely used in construction, petroleum, chemical, food, medicine and other industries. It has become an indispensable material in modern industry due to its excellent corrosion resistance, high strength and good processing performance. It is very important for relevant practitioners and users to understand the basic knowledge of stainless steel industrial welded pipe.

There are many types of stainless steel welded pipes, which can be divided into many types according to different classification standards. Common classification methods include manufacturing process, material, use, etc. According to the manufacturing process, there are mainly argon arc welding pipe (TIG), submerged arc welding pipe (SAW), high frequency welding pipe (HFW), etc.; according to the material, it can be divided into austenitic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel, etc.; according to the use, it can be divided into building decoration pipe, industrial fluid conveying pipe, food hygiene grade pipe, etc.
Austenitic stainless steel welded pipe is the most widely used type. It has good corrosion resistance, toughness and welding performance. Typical representative materials are 304 and 316 stainless steel. 304 stainless steel is suitable for most common environments due to its excellent comprehensive performance. 316 stainless steel is more outstanding in corrosion resistance, especially in environments containing chloride ions, such as marine environments or chemical equipment.
The production process of stainless steel welded pipes mainly includes plate shearing, coil forming, welding, weld treatment, sizing, polishing and other steps. Among them, the welding process is one of the key factors that determine the quality of welded pipes. High-quality welding requires not only uniform and defect-free welds, but also the mechanical properties of the welds must be similar to those of the parent material, thereby ensuring the reliability and safety of the entire pipeline system.
In the welding process, argon arc welding (TIG) and high-frequency welding (HFW) are two commonly used welding methods. TIG welding uses an inert gas shielded arc for welding, which has the advantages of high weld quality and small heat-affected zone, and is often used in precision welding occasions. HFW welding uses the induction heat generated by high-frequency current for welding, which has high production efficiency and is suitable for mass production.
In addition to the welding process, heat treatment of welded pipes is also an important means to improve their performance. Through annealing, the internal stress generated during cold processing can be eliminated, the plasticity of the material can be restored, and the mechanical properties can be improved. In addition, according to different use environments and requirements, surface treatments such as pickling, passivation, polishing, etc. can also be performed to improve the corrosion resistance and aesthetics of the welded pipe.
