What is Duplex 2205 Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil ?
Duplex 2205 Cold-Rolled Stainless Steel Coil (conforming to ASTM A240/A240M and EN 10088-2 standards, grades UNS S32205/S31803) is a duplex stainless steel with a dual-phase microstructure of ferrite and austenite. It offers both high strength (yield strength ≥ 450 MPa, approximately twice that of 316L stainless steel) and excellent corrosion resistance (pitting resistance equivalent number, PREN ≥ 32). It performs exceptionally well in harsh environments containing chlorides, such as marine engineering and chemical processing media, making it an ideal material for high-pressure and highly corrosive service conditions.

Can 2205 resist hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) corrosion?
2205 stainless steel cold drawn coil performs well in oil and gas environments containing H₂S, and its PREN value (pitting resistance equivalent) ≥32. Combined with high strength characteristics, it can effectively inhibit sulfide stress cracking (SSC).
How is the corrosion resistance of 2205 Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Coil at high temperatures?
Short-term high temperature: It can withstand short-term exposure below 300℃, but it is recommended to be ≤250℃ for long-term use.
High temperature embrittlement: σ phase is easily precipitated above 300℃, resulting in a decrease in toughness, and the performance needs to be restored through solution annealing.
