What is ASTM A270 TP316 seamless sanitary pipe?
ASTM A270 TP316 is an austenitic stainless steel seamless pipe that meets the requirements of harsh clean and corrosive environments. It is formed by seamless process (cold drawing/cold rolling) and has no weld defects. Combined with the chloride ion resistance of 2-3% molybdenum (Mo) in TP316 material, it implements ASTM A270 standards to ensure that the surface treatment, dimensional accuracy and material performance meet international health and safety requirements.

TP316 What is the difference between seamless sanitary pipe and welded pipe?
ASTM A270 TP316 seamless pipe has no welds, avoiding welding defects (such as pores and lack of fusion), and is suitable for high-pressure and high-cleanliness scenarios; ASTM A270 TP316 welded pipe has low cost, but the weld area requires additional testing, and the risk of leakage is higher under high pressure.
ASTM A270 TP316 stainless steel seamless pipe (C≤0.08%): suitable for fixed installation scenarios that can be annealed after welding, and the cost is 10%-15% lower than 316L; TP316L (C≤0.03%): no annealing after welding, suitable for on-site welding or thin-walled pipes (such as wall thickness <1.5mm), but the molybdenum content is the same and the corrosion resistance is similar.
