What is ASTM A270 TP316L Ultra-clean precision steel pipe?
ASTM A270 TP316L is an ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel precision steel pipe that meets the ASTM A270 sanitary pipe standard. The carbon content is ≤0.03%, 2-3% molybdenum (Mo) is added, and the inner wall roughness Ra≤0.4μm is achieved through electrolytic polishing (EP)/bright annealing (BA) ultra-clean surface treatment, solving the problems of intergranular corrosion and surface contamination of traditional stainless steel pipes after welding.

Core difference: Surface roughness: Ultra-clean pipe Ra≤0.4μm (ordinary pipe≤0.8μm), particle residue is reduced by 50%;
Certification level: Ultra-clean pipe has passed high-end certifications such as ASME BPE/SEMI F20, suitable for extremely clean scenes such as biopharmaceuticals and semiconductors.
Can TP316L seamless pipe be used for seawater desalination?
Short-term contact (<6 months) is optional, and it is recommended to upgrade duplex steel 2205 (resistant to Cl⁻＞10,000ppm) for a long time; if it is offshore low-salinity seawater (Cl⁻≈5,000ppm), TP316L can be used stably for more than 3 years.
What is the minimum operating temperature of TP316L pipe?
There is no risk of low-temperature embrittlement, and it can be used for -196℃ liquid nitrogen transportation. The elongation at low temperature is still ≥35%, which is 20% better than ordinary stainless steel.
