FAQ

What is the difference between ASTM A312 and ASTM A358 for large diameter pipes?
ASTM A312 is for general corrosive service and includes both seamless and welded pipes. ASTM A358 is specifically for EFW pipes intended for high-temperature and heavy-duty service. A358 requires more rigorous Radiographic Testing (X-ray) and has multiple "classes" (Class 1 to 5) to define the weld quality. 

 

Why choose TP316L for large infrastructure projects instead of TP304L?
TP316L contains 2.0-3.0% Molybdenum (Mo), which provides much better resistance to pitting corrosion in chloride-rich environments (like seawater or wastewater) compared to TP304L. For large-scale projects like desalination or chemical plants, 316L ensures a significantly longer service life.

 

Can you provide beveled ends for on-site welding?
Yes. Large diameter pipes are usually joined by welding, so we provide Beveled Ends (per ASME B16.25) as a standard requirement to facilitate easy on-site installation.
