The chemical composition of ASTM A312 TP321 welding thin wall steel tubing usually includes 17-19% chromium, 9-12% nickel and a small amount of titanium (about 5 times the carbon content) to stabilize the steel against sensitization and intergranular corrosion at high temperatures. Adding a small amount of titanium (Ti) element to 304 stainless steel effectively solves the intergranular corrosion problem of 304 stainless steel at high temperatures, and is suitable for high temperature, high pressure and corrosive environments.
