Our 904L hot-rolled plates undergo full Solution Annealing & Pickling treatment, resulting in a uniform silver-white No.1 surface finish and ensuring that all welding-sensitive microstructures have been completely eliminated before delivery. Under high pressure or severe temperature fluctuations, the material can effectively resist Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC). Compared with cold-rolled plates, hot-rolled 904L plates are more suitable for manufacturing large pressure vessels, storage tanks, and heavy industrial components, as they can withstand higher workloads and thermal cycling stresses.
Each 904L medium and thick plate can undergo Ultrasonic Testing (UT, ASTM A435/A578) to ensure there are no internal pores or cracks within the material. Every batch of ASTM A240 904L plates is supplied with a Material Test Certificate (MTC) in compliance with EN 10204 3.1 standards, and supports third-party inspections by SGS, BV, and other organizations.

904L vs. 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel: Price
The price of 904L stainless steel is typically higher than that of 2205 duplex stainless steel, with its cost generally ranging from 1.5 to 2 times that of the latter; this is primarily attributed to its significantly higher nickel (> 23%) and molybdenum content. Although 2205 offers greater strength and superior cost-effectiveness in chloride-containing environments, 904L remains the more ideal choice in highly acidic environments.

Application: Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) Scrubber Tower in a Power Plant
Project Background:
A large overseas coal-fired power plant carried out an ultra-low emission upgrade. The inlet area of the flue gas desulfurization (FGD) scrubber tower was exposed to severe corrosion caused by high temperatures, high chloride ion concentrations, and acidic flue gas.
Material Challenge:
The flue gas condensate was highly acidic and contained a large amount of chlorides, making the system extremely susceptible to Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC).

Steel or Reinforced Wooden Pallets: For medium-to-thick plates, we utilize welded steel frame pallets or heavy-duty wooden pallets (fumigated in accordance with ISPM 15 standards); these pallets offer a load-bearing capacity of 5–10 tons, ensuring the plates remain free of deformation during long-distance transit.
