What is 304L Stainless Steel Cold Drawn Bars ?
304L stainless steel bar is an ultra-low carbon version of austenitic stainless steel bar with a carbon content of ≤0.03% (ordinary 304 is ≤0.08%). It significantly improves the resistance to intergranular corrosion by reducing the risk of carbide precipitation, and is especially suitable for scenarios where heat treatment is not required after welding.

Stainless Steel 304L Round Bars Advantages
What is the difference between 304L stainless steel bar and 304?
Carbon content: 304L is designed with low carbon, and it is not easy to cause corrosion due to chromium depletion at the grain boundary after welding;
Heat treatment requirements: 304L can be used directly after welding, and 304 needs solid solution treatment (heating and rapid cooling) to resist intergranular corrosion.
Cost: 304L is 5%-10% more expensive than 304, because the carbon content needs to be more strictly controlled during smelting.
How is the corrosion resistance of 304L ultra-low carbon stainless steel bar?
It performs well in the atmosphere, fresh water, weak acid and alkali, and low temperature (-196℃) environment, and its corrosion resistance is more than 10 times that of carbon steel. A self-repairing Cr₂O₃ oxide film can be formed on the surface.
