What is ASTM A276 Grade 309 Cold Drawn Bar?
309 grade stainless steel cold drawn bar conforms to ASTM A276 standard and is a cold drawn product of 309 austenitic stainless steel (UNS S30900). The cold drawing process improves strength and precision, making it suitable for precision parts in high temperature oxidation resistance and moderate corrosion environments.

309 stainless steel hot-rolled bars contain high chromium (22-24%) and high nickel (12-15%) alloys, with excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance (maximum temperature resistance 1150°C) and good thermal stability.
The long-term use temperature of 309 stainless steel rolled bars is less than 1100°C (oxidation resistance), and the short-term temperature resistance can reach 1200°C; when used for a long time at 870-1150°C, the stability of the oxide film is better than that of 304/316 stainless steel, suitable for industrial furnaces and heat treatment equipment; at 500-800°C, the strength retention rate is 15%-20% higher than that of 304 stainless steel, suitable for high-temperature load-bearing structures.
