What is ASTM A276 Type 431 Stainless Steel Round Bar ?
ASTM A276 431 stainless steel round bar is a martensitic stainless steel. Through quenching and tempering, the hardness can reach HB285-340. The tensile strength is twice that of 304 stainless steel. It is suitable for high stress scenes (such as gears and shafts). It can be hot processed, cold formed and welded (preheating is required). It is easy to cut in the annealed state and can be used directly in the quenched and tempered state. It is not easy to break in low temperature environment (-40°C). It is suitable for mechanical parts that require high strength, wear resistance and certain corrosion resistance.
