ASTM A479 316L polished stainless steel bars feature a carbon content of ≤ 0.03%, eliminating the risk of intergranular corrosion after welding. With 2–3% molybdenum, they provide up to 5 times the pitting resistance to chloride ions compared to 304 stainless steel, making them ideal for high-corrosion environments.
Enhanced by electrolytic polishing, these bars achieve a mirror-like surface finish with Ra ≤ 0.4 μm, free of burrs and scratches, and are directly suitable for use in precision instruments (such as valve cores and bearing balls) and medical devices (such as surgical instrument components).
