What is ASTM A479 410 polished stainless steel rod?
410 stainless steel polished bars contain 11.5–13.5% chromium (Cr) and less than 0.15% carbon, classifying them as high-strength martensitic stainless steel. They can be hardened by heat treatment to a hardness of HRC 40–45, offering 50% better wear resistance compared to austenitic stainless steels such as 304 and 316. These properties make them well-suited for high-load, high-wear applications.
