What Is the ASTM Equivalent of 1.4410 Material?
1.4410 is the European EN material number for super duplex stainless steel, commonly designated UNS S32750 or SAF 2507. It combines a high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content with a duplex microstructure containing both austenite and ferrite.
For ASTM specifications, UNS S32750 is the key material designation to look for. However, the applicable ASTM standard depends on the product form: pipe, tube, plate, sheet, bar, or fittings. A material designation alone does not establish full compliance with a particular ASTM product specification.
Is UNS S32750 equivalent to 1.4410?
Yes. UNS S32750 is the widely used US material designation corresponding to EN 1.4410 / X2CrNiMoN25-7-4. The product standard, heat treatment and acceptance requirements must still be verified.
Is 1.4410 the same as ASTM A182 F53?
Not in every context. EN 1.4410 and UNS S32750 identify the material grade, while ASTM A182 F53 is the forging designation used for applicable forged products. For pipe, plate and bar, other ASTM product standards may apply.
1.4410 Material Equivalent ASTM: Grade and Product Standards
For purchasing purposes, UNS S32750 is the main cross-reference for EN 1.4410, while ASTM A182 F53 is the forging grade designation commonly specified for flanges and other forged components. The ASTM standard must be selected according to the product being purchased.

What is the difference between 1.4410 and 1.4462?
Compared to EN 1.4462 (UNS S32205, Duplex 2205), EN 1.4410 (UNS S32750, Super Duplex 2507) offers higher strength and superior resistance to chloride-induced corrosion. 1.4410 typically contains 24%–26% chromium, 3%–5% molybdenum, and 0.24%–0.32% nitrogen, whereas 1.4462 contains approximately 21%–23% chromium and 2.5%–3.5% molybdenum. Their respective minimum yield strengths are approximately 550 MPa and 450 MPa. In more demanding corrosive environments, 1.4410 should be selected; however, if the performance of 1.4462 is sufficient for the requirements and offers a lower cost, it may be used instead.
Is 1.4410 stainless steel magnetic?
Yes. EN 1.4410 (UNS S32750) is magnetic because its duplex microstructure consists of both ferrite and austenite, typically in a roughly balanced proportion.
Can 1.4410 stainless steel be welded?
Yes. EN 1.4410 can be welded using qualified procedures, such as TIG/GTAW (Tungsten Inert Gas/Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), MIG/GMAW (Metal Inert Gas/Gas Metal Arc Welding), or other suitable welding methods. During welding, it is essential to strictly control heat input, interpass temperature, and cooling conditions to maintain the balance of the duplex microstructure and prevent the formation of detrimental intermetallic phases.
