310/310S VS 201
Both 310 and 310S stainless steel are high performance heat-resistant steels, but each has its own characteristics.310 has higher levels of chromium and nickel,it has excellent oxidation resistance and high temperature resistance,it also can remain stable in extremely high temperature environments, and it is suitable for high temperature furnace parts and burners, etc. However, its higher carbon content may cause intergranular corrosion problems, especially after welding.
In contrast,310S is a low-carbon version of 310 with carbon content reduced to below 0.08%,which significantly improves the resistance to intergranular corrosion and is particularly suitable for welding applications such as chemical equipment and heat exchanges. Both of them have strong corrosion resistance, but 310S has better corrosion resistance and stability after welding. If the application scenario involves a lot of welding,310S is better choice,if the main concern is high temperature performance and less welding,310 can also do the job.
