GNEE Stainless Steel is committed to providing reliable, high-cleanliness, stable-quality, and professionally engineered ASTM A269 TP316L seamless stainless steel tube solutions for customers in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, and high-purity chemical industries.
Compared with welded tubes, ASTM A269 TP316L seamless tubes have no weld seam, offering more uniform mechanical performance, higher pressure resistance, and lower fluid resistance. They are especially suitable for applications requiring high pressure, high corrosion resistance, and ultra-high cleanliness.
Our ASTM A269 TP316L 320 grit outer polished tubes feature a smooth, semi-reflective surface with nearly invisible polishing lines. This significantly reduces bacterial adhesion and particulate residue, meeting strict hygiene and cleanliness standards such as FDA, ASME BPE, and SEMI. The tubes can operate within a wide temperature range from -196°C to 800°C, making them suitable for high-temperature sterilization (CIP/SIP) systems.
We also provide multiple surface finish options, including bright annealed (BA), annealed & pickled (AP), electropolished (EP), and higher grit mirror polishing such as 400# and 600#, to meet different cleanliness and aesthetic requirements.

ASTM A269 TP316L seamless stainless steel tubing supplied by GNEE Stainless Steel is available in outer diameters from 6.4 mm (1/4") to 114.3 mm, wall thickness from 0.51 mm (0.020") to 6.0 mm, and lengths up to 6 meters (customizable). The outer diameter tolerance can be controlled within ±0.05 mm. This product is specifically designed for industries requiring extremely high standards of hygiene and corrosion resistance, including food processing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, semiconductor manufacturing, and high-purity fluid systems.

What is the expected Surface Roughness (Ra) for a 320 Grit finish?
Sanding with 320-grit sandpaper typically produces a surface roughness (Ra) of approximately 0.30 micrometers (12-grit) to 0.40 micrometers (16-grit). This sanding method yields a smooth, matte finish and is often used in precision machining, such as mold making or sanitary stainless steel equipment.
316 pipe Roughness Comparison (Ra Values)
| Grit Size | Ra (μm) | Ra (μin) | Finish Quality |
| 180 Grit | 1.0 – 1.5 | 40 – 60 | Coarse / Industrial Brushed |
| 240 Grit | 0.8 – 1.0 | 32 – 40 | Standard Brushed |
| 320 Grit | 0.5 – 0.8 | 20 – 32 | High-Satin / Sanitary Standard |
| 400 Grit | 0.2 – 0.4 | 8 – 16 | Semi-Mirror / Fine Satin |

Delivery time
GNEE leverages its extensive inventory of base tubes to typically shorten polishing cycles to 7-15 days. It supports various trade terms including FOB, CIF, and DDP, and boasts a mature logistics network covering major ports worldwide.
Applications of ASTM A269 TP316L Polished Pipe
Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology: Used for conveying ultrapure water (WFI), active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and chemical media.
Food, Beverage, and Dairy Processing Lines: Convey dairy products, fruit juices, syrups, and alcoholic beverages, typically using in-situ cleaning (CIP) and in-situ sterilization (SIP) systems.
Medical Devices: Used for hospital gas distribution, surgical instrument manufacturing, and laboratory fluid lines.

Mandatory Testing & Inspection
| Test Category | Description |
| Flaring Test | Section expanded to 1.15x OD without cracking |
| Flattening Test | Sample flattened to 3x wall thickness without defects |
| Hardness Test | One test per lot to ensure compliance with ≤ 90 HRB |
| Hydrostatic Test | 100% Pressure tested to ensure no leakage (or Eddy Current) |
| Nondestructive (ET) | Eddy Current testing per ASTM E426 to detect sub-surface flaws |
| Visual/Dimensional | 100% inspection of polished surface and OD/WT precision |

Packaging & Protection
Individual Bagging: Each tube must be individually packaged in a PE plastic bag to prevent scratches caused by friction between tubes.
End Protection: Both ends must be fitted with plastic caps to prevent dust from entering the inner wall or to prevent deformation of the ends.
Wooden Crate Shipping: Sturdy, fumigation-free wooden crates must be used to prevent compression, bending, or impact during transportation.
