What is the ASTM A276 Specification?
ASTM A276 is a standard specification by ASTM International covering hot-finished or cold-finished stainless steel bars and shapes (rounds, squares, hexagons, and specialized shapes like angles or tees) for corrosion-resistant and high-temperature service. It excludes bars for reforging and includes austenitic, ferritic, and martensitic grades.

The available diameter range is 6–200mm, with fixed lengths of 2–6m, and supports customized processing such as fixed-length cutting, turning/polishing, and chamfering.


Our 904L stainless steel round bars are produced through a full process route including electric furnace refining + AOD decarburization, high-temperature forging, 1100–1150°C solution annealing, and straightening & finishing. Dimensional tolerance is strictly controlled within ±0.03mm. The surface is free from cracks, inclusions, and scale defects. Each bar undergoes eddy current and ultrasonic non-destructive testing, achieving a finished product qualification rate of up to 99.8%. EN 10204 3.2 material certificates and third-party salt spray test reports are available upon request.
SS 904L round bars demonstrate excellent resistance to seawater, chloride ions, and acidic environments. After 72 hours of neutral salt spray testing, no corrosion is observed. In long-term high-temperature and humid conditions, the material is resistant to cracking and failure. Its service life is approximately 5 times longer than standard 304 and 316L grades, significantly reducing maintenance and replacement costs. It is widely used in high-end and severe corrosive environments such as chemical desulfurization systems, offshore engineering, pharmaceutical equipment, and petrochemical pressure vessels.

Professional Export Packaging Standards
Individual Sleeving/Wrapping: For ground bars or "Bright Bars" with stringent surface finish requirements, we utilize individual PE plastic sleeves or bubble wrap to prevent contact-induced scratches between the bars.
Standard Grade (Woven Bag Wrapping): Bundled round bars are tightly encased in a double layer of waterproof woven fabric; this method is suitable for Full Container Load (FCL) shipments.
Enhanced Grade (Wooden Crate Packaging): (Highly Recommended for 904L) Utilizes fumigation-free wooden crates (compliant with ISPM 15 standards). The round bars are placed inside the crate and secured with surrounding foam or wood shavings.
