Description
EN 1.4845 is a premium high-chromium, high-nickel austenitic stainless steel, corresponding to AISI 310S, designed for extreme high-temperature applications. With 24.0-26.0% chromium and 19.0-22.0% nickel, it delivers exceptional oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1100°C- the highest among common austenitic grades-making it suitable for continuous service in ultra-high-heat environments. The low carbon content (≤0.08%) prevents sensitization and ensures good weldability, even for heavy welded components. Unlike EN 1.4833, EN 1.4845 offers superior creep resistance and scaling resistance at extreme temperatures, while maintaining non-magnetic properties and good ductility. It is the preferred choice for applications where components are exposed to prolonged ultra-high heat.
Chemical Composition (wt%)
C ≤ 0.08, Cr: 24.00-26.00, Ni: 19.00-22.00, Mn ≤ 2.00, Si ≤ 1.50, P ≤ 0.045, S ≤ 0.030
Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength ≥ 515 MPa, Yield Strength ≥ 205 MPa, Elongation ≥ 40%, Hardness ≤ 217 HB
Advantages
Exceptional ultra-high-temperature oxidation resistance (up to 1100°C); superior creep and scaling resistance; low-carbon for good weldability; non-magnetic; good ductility; ideal for extreme heat environments; long-term thermal stability.
Applications
Furnace linings, incinerator components, high-temperature heat exchangers, boiler superheaters, industrial heating elements, and components exposed to 900-1100°C.
Equivalent Grades
AISI 310S, UNS S31008, GB 06Cr25Ni20, SUS310S
