What is en 10216 5 material?
EN 10216-5 is a European Union standard that specifies the technical delivery conditions for seamless stainless steel tubes intended for pressure applications at room, low, or elevated temperatures. It covers austenitic (including creep-resisting) and austenitic-ferritic (duplex) stainless steels designed for high-pressure and corrosion-resistant purposes.
EN10216-5 UNS32205 duplex stainless steel seamless tube is a high-performance seamless pipe that complies with the European standard EN10216-5. It is manufactured from balanced duplex stainless steel UNS32205 (containing 22% chromium, 5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and 0.15% nitrogen), featuring an outstanding pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) of ≥34. This tube offers a tensile strength of ≥620 MPa and a yield strength of ≥450 MPa (at 20°C), with an elongation of ≥25%. It maintains excellent mechanical and corrosion-resistant properties across a wide temperature range from -50°C to 300°C, demonstrating exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and attack from acidic or alkaline media. It is widely used for high-pressure fluid conveyance in demanding environments such as chemical processing, marine engineering, and oil & gas applications.
