Overview
STS316Ti is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel, developed based on STS316 with the addition of 0.20-0.70% titanium to enhance intergranular corrosion resistance. It retains the 2.00-3.00% molybdenum content of STS316, ensuring superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride-containing media. Composed of 16.00-18.00% chromium and 10.00-14.00% nickel, it forms a stable austenitic structure that is non-magnetic in the annealed state. The titanium addition forms stable titanium carbides, preventing chromium depletion during welding and high-temperature service (450-850°C). This grade is widely used in welded structures requiring both chloride corrosion resistance and intergranular corrosion protection.
Chemical Composition (wt%)

Typical Mechanical Properties (Annealed Condition)
Tensile Strength (Rm): ≥ 520 MPa; Yield Strength (Rp0.2): ≥ 205 MPa; Elongation (A): ≥ 40%; Brinell Hardness (HB): ≤ 187
Core Advantages
Titanium stabilization prevents intergranular corrosion in welded joints; molybdenum ensures superior chloride corrosion resistance; non-magnetic and highly ductile; easy to weld with no post-weld heat treatment; ideal for welded structures in corrosive environments.
Applications
Chemical processing pipelines, marine equipment, food and pharmaceutical processing machinery, seawater treatment systems, and welded structural parts in corrosive environments.
Equivalent Grades
AISI 316Ti, UNS S31630, 1.4571, SUS316Ti, GB 06Cr17Ni12Mo2Ti
