304 Stainless Steel: The Universal Standard Austenitic Stainless SteelSUS430 Stainless Steel: Properties and Applications304H Stainless Steel: High-Carbon Strengthened Grade for High-Temperature Applications

Core Properties of SUS304

Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to atmospheric, water, and many chemical corrosions, though susceptible to pitting in high-chloride environments.

Mechanical Strength: High tensile strength (around 515 MPa) and good durability, with toughness at both high and cryogenic temperatures.

Formability & Weldability: Superb ductility, allowing deep drawing, bending, and easy welding, making it a "workhorse" for fabrication.

Thermal Properties: Good heat resistance (up to 925°C continuous), but prolonged use in 425-860°C range isn't ideal for water corrosion resistance.

Non-Magnetic: Generally non-magnetic, which is useful in certain electronic or structural applications.

Hygienic: Easy to clean and maintain a smooth surface, suitable for sanitary uses.

Common Applications

Kitchen & Food: Cookware, sinks, food processing equipment, cutlery.

Industrial: Heat exchangers, pumps, valves, tanks, piping, fasteners, pressure vessels.

Architectural: Interior/exterior panels, decorative trim, railings.

Transportation: Components for automotive and railway.

Medical: Instruments and equipment due to its hygienic nature.
