Product Introduction
SUS304L is the low-carbon variant of SUS304, specially designed to solve the problem of intergranular corrosion (sensitization) in welded components. With a maximum carbon content of 0.03%, it effectively prevents the precipitation of chromium carbides in the heat-affected zone during welding, eliminating the need for post-weld annealing-a key advantage for large or complex welded structures. This grade retains all the corrosion resistance and formability of SUS304, while offering enhanced ductility and weld integrity. It is the preferred choice for welded components that require long-term corrosion stability, especially in industries such as chemical and food processing.
Chemical Composition (wt%)
C ≤ 0.03, Cr: 18.00-20.00, Ni: 8.00-11.00, Mn ≤ 2.00, Si ≤ 1.00, P ≤ 0.045, S ≤ 0.030
Mechanical Properties (Annealed State)
Tensile Strength ≥ 480 MPa, Yield Strength ≥ 175 MPa, Elongation ≥ 40%, Hardness ≤ 200 HB
Core Advantages
Resistant to sensitization, no post-weld heat treatment required; superior intergranular corrosion resistance compared to SUS304; maintains the general corrosion performance of SUS304; excellent weldability and ductility; non-magnetic; suitable for large-scale welded fabrications.
Typical Applications
Welded pressure vessels, chemical pipelines, pharmaceutical equipment, food processing pipelines, large storage tanks, and welded components in corrosive environments.
Equivalent Grades
AISI 304L, UNS S30403, EN 1.4307, GB 022Cr19Ni10
