SUS316L Low-Carbon Stainless Steel

Description

SUS316L is the low-carbon grade of SUS316, optimized to prevent intergranular corrosion after welding. With carbon content limited to ≤0.03%, it avoids chromium carbide precipitation during welding, maintaining excellent corrosion resistance in welded joints without post-weld heat treatment. It inherits the outstanding molybdenum-enhanced corrosion resistance of SUS316, making it highly reliable in chloride, chemical, and marine environments. It is the preferred choice for heavy welded fabrications requiring long-term durability.

C ≤ 0.03, Cr 16.0–18.5, Ni 10.0–14.0, Mo 2.0–3.0, Mn ≤ 2.00, Si ≤ 1.00, P ≤ 0.045, S ≤ 0.030

Advantages

Excellent post-weld corrosion resistance; better than SUS316 in welded conditions; retains high pitting resistance in chloride media.
