Overview

UNS S30908 is a low-carbon, high-chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel, specifically designed for extreme high-temperature applications requiring excellent oxidation and carburization resistance. With 22.00-24.00% chromium and 12.00-15.00% nickel, it forms a dense, protective oxide film that can withstand continuous service at temperatures up to 1038°C and short-term peaks up to 1100°C, even in sulfur-containing atmospheres. Its low carbon content (≤ 0.08%) improves weldability and reduces the risk of carbide precipitation, while its austenitic structure ensures non-magnetic properties and high ductility. This grade is ideal for high-temperature industrial equipment exposed to severe oxidation and thermal cycling.
