What is uns S31254 material?
6 Mo (UNS S31254) is a super austenitic stainless steel with a high level of molybdenum and nitrogen, providing high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion as well as high strength compared with conventional austenitic stainless steels such as 316L.This alloy possesses a lower yield strength than that of duplex stainless steel (and much lower than that of super duplex steel) and pitting resistance which is comparable to super duplex stainless steel (such as UNS S32760 / S32750).

What is 1.4547 material equivalent to?

The 1.4547 material is equivalent to the following other designations: UNS S31254, 254 SMO, SS2378, F44, and the EN chemical designation X1CrNiMoCuN20-18-7.

1.4547 material weldability

1.4547 (UNS S31254, 254 SMO) has good weldability using common fusion welding processes like TIG/GTAW, but requires care due to its high thermal expansion and sensitivity to hot cracking.

1.4547 stainless steel hardness

The hardness of 1.4547 (254SMO) super austenitic stainless steel varies by product form, with typical maximum Brinell hardness values of ≤ 223 HB for plate and sheet products and up to ≤ 321 HB for bar products, while its Rockwell B hardness is around ≤ 96 HRB.

What is the difference between 1.4547 and 1.4410 stainless steel?

The main difference is that 1.4547 (Super Austenitic Stainless Steel 254 SMO) is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with higher molybdenum content and higher PREN, offering exceptional resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, while 1.4410 (Super Duplex Stainless Steel 2507) is a super duplex steel with a two-phase (austenite and ferrite) structure, providing higher strength and good overall corrosion resistance.
