What is Zeron 100 material?

Zeron 100 is a super duplex stainless steel developed by Rolled Alloys. This alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. It typically contains 25% chromium, 7% nickel, and 3.6% molybdenum, with added copper and tungsten. It can be processed into a variety of practical product forms, including plates, coils, tubes, bars, and wires.

What is Zeron 100 equivalent to?

Zeron 100 is a super duplex stainless steel with UNS S32760 as its equivalent designation. Other equivalent specifications include Werkstoff Nr. 1.4501, and various ASTM and ASME standards such as ASTM A890, ASTM A995, and ASME SA351/995 for castings. For similar properties, you can also consider Duplex 2507, which is a close relative, though Zeron 100 has slightly higher levels of copper and tungsten.

ZERON 100 Machinability

ZERON 100 combines good machinability with durability. Its hardness ranges from 260-290 HBW. While its performance is stable in low to medium temperatures (-50°C to 300°C), its toughness may decrease above 300°C due to stress corrosion precipitation, making it unsuitable for long-term use in environments above this temperature.

Is Zeron 100 magnetic?

No, Zeron 100 is not magnetic. Zeron 100 is a super duplex stainless steel that is largely non-magnetic, although some minor magnetic attraction can occur in areas where the material has been cold-worked. Its low magnetic permeability makes it suitable for applications where magnetic interference must be avoided.

What is the difference between Zeron 100 and 2507?

Zeron 100 (also known as UNS S32760) and 2507 (UNS S32750) are both super duplex stainless steels, but Zeron 100 has a slightly higher corrosion resistance due to added copper and tungsten. Zeron 100 is designed to be more resistant to general and pitting corrosion and is specified with higher minimum yield and tensile strength requirements across all sections compared to 2507.

UNS S32760 vs UNS S32750

S32750 has a higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content, resulting in slightly higher tensile strength and resistance to general corrosion, pitting, and crevice corrosion. S32760 has a higher copper and tungsten content, which enhances its corrosion resistance in corrosive environments, especially some acidic environments, and gives it a higher elongation.
