Is AISI 316L non-magnetic?
316L is an austenitic stainless steel; in its annealed state, it is completely non-magnetic (paramagnetic). However, after undergoing cold working-such as cold rolling, bending, or drawing-the material may develop slight magnetism due to the transformation of austenite into martensite.
Is 316L suitable for low-temperature or ultra-low-temperature applications?
Yes. 316L retains excellent ductility and impact toughness at sub-zero temperatures-even in cryogenic environments. It exhibits no brittle-to-ductile transition temperature and is frequently used in equipment for the storage and transportation of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
Lead Time
Stock Orders: Picking, processing, and loading are completed within 3–5 business days following contract confirmation and receipt of the advance payment.
Production Orders: Based on the production schedule, the lead time is typically 15–25 business days; urgent projects may request a "fast-track" channel to expedite the timeline.
Sea-worthy Packaging
To ensure that plate surfaces remain free from moisture damage and scratches during long-distance sea transport, we adhere to rigorous export packaging standards:
Surface Protection: By default, each plate is covered with a single or double layer of 70μ/100μ laser protective film (PVC/Fiber Laser Film).
Moisture & Rust Prevention: The material is wrapped in waterproof kraft paper and secured with high-strength steel strapping.
Support & Reinforcement:We utilize fumigated wooden pallets or steel pallets, with the load per pallet controlled within a range of 2–4 tons. Square timber blocks are placed at the base to prevent deformation, and metal edge protectors are installed to safeguard the corners.
