Are you searching for pipe fittings capable of withstanding both ultra-high pressures and extreme chloride-induced corrosion? In the seawater desalination, oil and gas, and chemical processing industries, standard austenitic stainless steel elbows (such as 316L) frequently suffer premature failure due to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, or stress corrosion cracking (SCC). What do we offer? We supply high-quality Duplex 2205 (UNS S31803/S32205) elbows that comply with the ASME B16.9 standard. Our products not only deliver strength that is double that of standard stainless steel but also enable you to significantly reduce maintenance costs throughout the entire product lifecycle.

FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between UNS S31803 and S32205 elbows?
A: S32205 is a high-nitrogen enhanced version of S31803. It offers a more precise chemical range and improved corrosion resistance. Our elbows are typically "Dual Certified" to meet both standards.
Q2: Is welding 2205 elbows difficult?
A: Not with the right approach. 2205 has excellent weldability. We recommend using ER2209 filler metal and maintaining a strict interpass temperature (below 150°C) to ensure the proper balance of the ferrite-austenite phases.
Q3: Why choose 2205 over 316L for seawater applications?
A: 316L has a PREN of ~24, making it vulnerable to pitting in stagnant seawater. 2205 has a PREN of ~35, providing far superior protection against chlorides and significantly higher resistance to high-pressure flow erosion.
